We Were Not Born Refugees (We were not born refugees)

at Claudio Zulian (Spain, 2020, 82′)

A documentary about the special stories of eight refugees whose lives meet in Barcelona. Iryna, Mohamad, Gabriel, Boris, Jose Luis, Mahmoud, Maysam and George: lawyers, musicians, interpreters, security guards, call center employees. Each of them knew how to make a crucial decision: the choice of exile to escape individual oppression. Let's listen to the story of that fateful decision, and how it brings meaning to their lives. It will surprise us to discover that their strength and dreams influence the people they work with on a daily basis, those they teach and those in need that help. This is the story of eight lives lived fully
